Doggie Day Training Program
It has been two years since the conception of Cathy's Canine Counseling. In that time it has become apparent that there are pet dog owners who want well-behaved dogs but do not have the time to do the initial training or attend public classes. I think I have come up with an exciting solution…Doggie Day Training!
What is Doggie Day Training?
Doggie Day Training is a concentrated training program that consists of the trainer (me) training your dog at your home (or other locations as needed) several days a week.
The trainer has a transition session with the owner at the end of each week of training so the owner can catch up with their dog's skill set and learn how to maintain it.
Follow up sessions will be arranged. Usually two are needed within the month following the weeks of training.
What can be covered in this program?
- Puppy training and socialization
- Basic obedience
- Crate training
- Leash frustration/aggression – dog-dog
- Separation anxiety
- Other lifestyle (city dweller or country dog) needs
This is not an appropriate program for dogs that have problems with housetraining, dog-human aggression, other severe aggression issues, as well as some other concerns.
How many weeks will the program take and how much will this cost?
This depends on some factors such as mileage, issues the owner wants addressed, age and breed of dog, behavioral issues the dog may have. All of these topics will be covered during the initial consult.
Here is the training and baseline price info for the minimum two-week program:
Minimum DDT (two week) program includes:
- One two-hour initial consultation
- Eight 1 hour sessions – I train your dog at your home
- Two 1½ hour transfer sessions – I teach you to maintain what your dog has learned
- Two 1½ hour private sessions within the month following the last transfer session
Price = $760 (savings of $200)
In addition to the savings (based on the $60 / hour private obedience session price), additional discounts are provided to owners who are senior citizens, for owners of dogs adopted from shelters/rescues, and for owners of dogs under the age of 5 months.
If this sounds like the training solution you or a friend are looking for, contact me, and we will set up an initial consult for this or other programs I offer. Cheers!
